Holistic Wellness
What is holistic wellness? To give you a thorough answer, we need to explore what does holistic and what does wellness mean separately.
Holistic means whole, complete, overall, entire, total, etc.Wellness on the other side means well-being, welfare and abundance.
So, when we talk about holistic wellness, we mean finding that magical spot in your life, when you will have overall happiness, prosperity and fulfillment. It’s attaining the wellbeing of your body, mind and soul – all the same time!
Quite simple, right?Or maybe not…It really depends on your perspective. You can make this look like an exciting adventure or an unachievable goal.
But before we get to the different pieces of holistic wellness, I would like to bring your attention to the fact that each of those pieces includes an inner and outer side.
So, in order to be in synchrony with your goal for reaching the ultimate welfare, you need to be fulfilled on an inner and outer level, simultaneously.
Holistic Wellness: What is it?
Now let’s explore together the pieces of this puzzle.
Body wellness
Your body is the temple of your soul. If you don’t feel ok with it you can hardly achieve total fulfillment. The outer level of your body wellness is related to your physical health and that includes your weight as well. The inner level represents how you feel about your body and appearance.
Emotional wellness
The outer level of emotional wellness represents the quality of your relationships with other people, including the romantic ones. How you feel about your relationships and most importantly how good is the relationship with yourself – that’s the inner level of emotional wellness.
Mind wellness
The mind wellness represents all kinds of intellectual activities. On an outer level this is the way you express yourself and your ideas. The inner level relates to the type of thoughts you let in your mind – are they positive, constructive and inspiring or critical, judgmental and limiting.
Performance wellness
The outer level of performance wellness includes achieving your goals in the outer world – usually it’s your career and business. The inner level represents your productivity, time management and organizational skills, work habits, etc. Obviously, the inner level is always affecting the outer level.
Material wellness
For most people material wellness means wealth and money. And that’s actually the outer level. But the inner level is also important. It represents do you feel provided and secure when it comes to your financial and material well-being or you feel worried about a potential loss and poverty. Sometimes people have enough resources and money but they are still worried, especially when it comes to the future.
Spiritual wellness
Spiritual wellness is something very individual. The inner level represents how connected you are with your soul and are you really in alignment with your higher self. The outer level corresponds to finding your own spiritual mission and moving towards it.
Growth and contribution wellness
The sense of living a meaningful life comes from growing and contributing. The growth can be inner and outer – to become better, to gain new qualities, to achieve more, etc. The contribution is usually focused on other people. It’s about making other people’s life better.
So, here are the 7 pieces of the holistic wellness formula. Focus on improving each of those areas and you will have the total fulfillment you really deserve!
